Rocktober Alphabet: L is for Led Zeppelin

A black and white photograph of Robert Plant with a tambourine and Jimmy Page with an acoustic guitar seated and performing

There will never, ever be another band like Led Zeppelin.
Their starkly original blend of gritty blues, shimmering acoustic instrumentals, and caustic rock redefined what was possible for a four man band to accomplish...

They define musical danger and mystery, they punch and hum, caress and assault.
They are blues, they are folk, they are honest, electric, personal, painful, triumphant rock.

Each member of the band (Plant, Page, Jones, Bonham) is completely indispensable, basic to the fundamental identity of who Zeppelin was. Though Page was the driving creative force of the four, every one of their masterful, dynamic contributions went a long way toward forging them a permanent place as seminal rock legend.
